Hello and welcome to the Boobie Ball!

Before I tell you a little about how this charity ball came into existence, let me begin with a big thank you.

Perhaps this is a thank you for your interest in the ball, for buying a ticket, for your generous sponsorship or

simply for helping to raise awareness. Whatever part you're playing in supporting the Boobie Ball, thank you!

Your support will make real change happen.

About me

I'm Lisa Johnson - a busy mum of three from Nottingham. I'm 39, and I have had breast cancer. I know the

disease well. It has taken two of the most important women in my life from me - my mum Judith and

my mother-in-law Marg. Both were the most incredible women and were taken from our family far

too soon.

Whilst going through treatment, and since finishing treatment, I have met many other young women who

are facing the same challenges. This has made me all the more determined to try and do something to

prevent other women going through the same.  This has led me to become passionate about fundraising.

After being heavily involved in the University of Nottingham Lifecycle 6 campaign #BreastCancerAndMe

(see below) I, alongside Sarah Blythe, arranged the first Boobie Ball, which raised over £4000.

Researchers at the University of Nottingham need to fundraise £1 million to develop world-leading breast

cancer research that will help save the lives of millions of women, just like me, around the world.

Watch the 2016 campaign film below (that's me, in the video!) to find out why this research is so important.

Even more recently this dreadful disease has taken my very close friend Janine Brook, aged just 40, and a mum of

two young girls. Janine was a prolific fundraiser and ambassador for self checking your breasts and breast

awareness (see www.facebook.com/Boobiedate) She was also extremely passionate about research into the disease, so that no family should have to lose anyone to breast cancer. See below a photograph of us together at the last

Boobie Ball in 2016.

So, following the success of the first Boobie Ball, I've gathered together some close friends, to launch Boobie

Ball 2,  promises to not only be a great fundraising event, but a really fun, glamorous night out -

complete with some of the best live music Nottingham has to offer. Couple that with a three course dinner,

dancing and top notch company, and you know you're in for a treat!

Please do come along and support this vital breast cancer research taking place right here in Nottingham.

We really hope to see you on the 10th November. Together, we will beat breast cancer.
